This new state-of-the-art laboratory and research facility expansion is part of their growth strategy as a globally recognized leader in wildlife DNA profiling. The facility includes forensic laboratories studying wildlife DNA sequencing as well as researching emerging disease relationships between human and animals. These expansions to the existing facility contain approximately 100,000 square feet of laboratory, office and classroom facilities.
West Oak Trails Secondary School

This 95,000 square foot Skilled Trades Institute contains three storeys of classrooms and offices. The structure was designed with a structural steel frame with reinforced concrete slab on the second floor. 120 foot long steel trusses are used to provide large open shop areas.
Alton Secondary School, Library And Community Centre

This unique integrated design combines three different partners, a three-storey public high school, a community library and a public community centre. The 156,000 square foot high school will house 1,500 students who will share the community centre’s athletic facilities, including three gymnasiums, lighted artificial turf sports field, eight-lane track and spectator seating.
The 7,000 square foot library will serve both students and the community, including flexible space to take full advantage of new and emerging information technology. The 55,500 square foot Community Centre will be linked to the high school.

It opened in 2010. It was constructed with load bearing masonry and hollow core precast floor slabs.
