Stephenson Engineering is proud to announce and welcome Lawrence McSorley, AAA, B. Arch., M. Arch., M.C.P. as our newest Associate, leading our Building Science team in Calgary.
Lawrence brings more than 25 years of technical knowledge and management experience to our firm. Throughout his career, Lawrence has worked with both Architectural and Consulting Engineering firms where he led and managed teams on projects within Canada and internationally; which include large scale commercial office, retail architectural, higher education, research and development facilities, large scale office buildings, resorts, and health care facilities.
Most recently, Lawrence was the National Lead for Building Science with a Consulting Firm in the Calgary area. There he was responsible for all business development functions, senior review of technical reports, staff training and development, and was the primary client liaison.
Prior to this, Lawrence was the Principal an Architectural firm in Denver, Colorado; providing design and project management expertise. He has additional architectural/lead design experience with other companies in Colorado and Pennsylvania.
Lawrence is a Professional Architect who is registered in the Province of Alberta, State of Colorado, and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, Master of City Planning in Urban Design and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design, both from the University of Pennsylvania.

Johnson Ieong, P.Eng. – Project Manager, Restoration
Johnson Ieong is a Professional Building Science Engineer with over 10 years of experience, including project conception, design development, construction documents, tendering, contract administration and project management. He has completed over 100 reserve fund studies for both low and high-rise buildings and has extensive experience with investigating water infiltration and mold in residential buildings. Johnson has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Ryerson University.
Tobias Link, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Architektur, Building Condition Specialist
Tobias has been working in the Calgary market for the past eight years, most recently at a local Consulting Engineering firm. He received an Engineering Degree in Architecture from the University of Applied Science, Coburg, Germany.
Brian Levy, EIT
Brian is an Engineer-In-Training specializing in building condition assessments. He has an established history of conducting site inspections with respect to the condition of various building systems and components. Brian obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary.
Adriana Almeida, B.Sc.,Arch.
Adriana has worked in the Building Science industry, where she performed in-depth building condition assessments for a variety of projects in a variety of sectors including: commercial real estate, government, residential, health care, education, and industrial. Her varied experience has allowed her to cover all aspects of building components and systems. Adriana graduated with an Architectural Degree from the University of Zulia, Venezuela.
Joy Hong, CET
As a Building Conditions Assessor, Joy has investigated building system defects, evaluated upcoming capital expenditure items, prepared Property Condition Assessments, and Facility Lifecycle Reports on a variety of projects. Joy graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Dankook University, Seoul, South Korea; and a Diploma of Civil Engineering Technology (Honours) from SAIT Polytechnic, Calgary.
