Building Information Modeling (BIM)
One of the first Canadian companies to adopt Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, Stephenson Engineering benefits from nearly seven years of exposure to BIM tools and best practices. As a result, we have some of the most creative, innovative and experienced BIM modelers in the industry.
The use of BIM technology enables us to establish seamless coordination and collaboration between design, architectural, and construction teams on any project. For standard projects, modeling in the Revit platform is integrated with structural design software such as ETABS, SAP and RAM. A cornerstone of our approach to most projects involves using BIM and REVIT as collaborative tools.
The use of BIM / REVIT allows for the production of complete and accurate structural drawings. Innovative ideas can be tested, allowing the team to provide workable solutions to design challenges and meet the requirements of the client and community, while reducing waste and inefficiency by identifying problem areas early in the process. Early co-ordination and collision detection results in significantly fewer RFI requests and costly change notices, saving time and money. Performance predictions and accurate cost estimates allow team members and owners to have a clear overall vision of the project.
