John Stephenson, P.Eng.
John Stephenson has been an important member of the Toronto Professional Engineering community for almost 50 years. He opened Stephenson Engineering, known at the time as John Stephenson Consultants, back in 1969. Starting out as a two-man firm operating out of a house on Isabella Street, John worked steadily designing buildings of all types, including offices, condominiums, schools, fire stations and community centres.
John’s contributions to the construction industry can be seen throughout the city. A few of the many landmark properties designed by John include The Shipp Centre, Consilium Place and The Sheppard Centre.
As a member of the PEO since 1965 and a Designated Structural Consultant since 1974, John has also provided Expert Witness Services for clients, The Professional Engineers of Ontario and The Ontario Association of Architects.
John continues to work with the firm as Senior Consultant. He also donates his time and expertise as a Director with Schools for Children of the World, a charity which works with communities around the world to provide schooling to children in need. SCW provides the technical knowledge and building materials needed to build a community school. They empower the community by training local citizens to build and maintain the facility as well as provide a teacher, allowing the community to become self-sufficient. Most recently, John has been involved in the redevelopment of schools in Honduras.

Graham Eaton, C.E.T.
Graham Eaton joined John Stephenson Consultants shortly after its inception, working closely with John to build the firm into a staple of the Toronto Structural Engineering industry. As a Partner with the firm, Graham has been responsible for a significant number of Toronto-area projects including Thornhill Square Shopping Centre, North York Corporate Centre, Karmax Heavy Stamping Plant and many schools and fire stations across the GTA.
In the 1970’s Graham moved to the Middle East to lead the branch office in
